Over, and Over
Rose/Jon

Mushy mushy
We met March 28th, 2004. It didn't take long for us to become best friends. A year later we became inseparable. Today we are one, sharing a home, a life, and a future. Welcome to our world...

It is done!

June 2nd, 2007 at 2pm we celebrated our union, surrounded by costumed family, friends, a few hundred onlookers, and one very special surprise guest.

Early this January when Jon proposed, we began plans to have our wedding coincide with the local Science Fiction convention: Adventurecon. What could be better? We had our "first date" at Adventurecon four years ago. Friends would already be present for the con, and we like convenience. It was also much easier and accepted to have the wedding party completely costumed with a con nearby. Little did we know what these seemingly simple plans would bring about.

Jon and I finished work on our costumes only a week before the wedding. His was a complete "Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back" version of the Boba Fett costume. Mine was a vision of iridescence and white ballgown worn by Sarah in the movie "Labyrinth". We spent our remaining days getting ready for the event of a lifetime.

As friends and family arrived, I found myself and Jon in a remarkable state of calm and happiness. I was just so happy to see everyone in a familiar setting of joy and costuming love. Even up to the last hour, when we began to dress, I knew I was ready to join in matrimony to my best friend in the whole universe.

The ceremony was presided over by our good friend Corey "Atin" Miller (who's son was also the ring barer, dressed as Emperor Palpatine). We couldn't have asked for a more amazing moment. Flanked by a collection of Fantasy bridesmaids, Darth Vader as best man, and Stormtrooper groomsmen, and "flowergirl" Tinkerbell spreading pixie dust with her wand, we were in heaven. But then as the ceremony had just started... someone objected! Forward walks the original, the incomparable, the REAL Boba Fett. Jeremy Bulloch, escorted by Imperial Officer Tambo, and wearing Ivan's "Return of the Jedi" version Fett costume, pushes his way to the altar and allows Jon to go ahead and marry me "just this once".

If that wasn't enough, he stood directly behind Jon the entire ceremony. But at that point I barely noticed, all I could see was the tear filled eyes of the man I was spending the rest of my life with.

It truly was a magical day. The Knoxville Convention Center and staff were beyond helpful and accommodating. I couldn't have done ANY of it without their help and provisions. Especially Stacey Swafford, Event Coordinator, who I highly recommend for anyone looking to do a wedding or event of some kind there, she is AMAZING!

I want to send a special thank you to everyone who came by, wished us well, or just watched from afar. It was bigger and better then anything I could have ever imagined.
